Meyer Sound Shows New Tools and Audio Design Techniques at Prolight+Sound 2012

 At Prolight+Sound in Frankfurt, visit the Meyer Sound stand to meet a brand new loudspeaker product to be displayed for the first time. A cocktail reception at the stand on Thursday, March 22, at 16:00 welcomes show-goers to socialize with industry friends while enjoying Meyer Sound hospitality. Those interested in furthering their system design techniques, including low-frequency steering methodologies, are invited to join the company's audio technical experts in twoManufacturers Forum presentations.

Meyer Sound's line of low-voltage self-powered loudspeakers has just been expanded to include three higher-power 48-volt, DC-powered loudspeaker models: UPM-1XP and UPJunior-XP loudspeakers and the UMS-1XP subwoofer. With seven loudspeakers now available, the low-voltage self-powered product line now offers a full range of solutions that combine no-compromise performance with low-cost installation.

Two Meyer Sound technologies leveraging the open AVB standards will be shown: the CAL column array loudspeaker and the D-Mitri digital audio platform. Featuring high-resolution audio (96 kHz sampling with up to 64-bit floating point processing), D-Mitri will drive the SpaceMap multichannel panning demonstrations at Prolight+Sound.

On March 21 at 15:45, Miguel Lourtie, Meyer Sound's European technical services manager, will lead the Manufacturers Forum "Complex Sound System Design" presentation to explore how to use acoustical prediction program to maximize sound system performance for elaborate productions and challenging venues. Thomas Mundorf, Meyer Sound Tech Support credited with the radical design of the TM Array subwoofer configuration, will lead a discussion on "Advanced Methods for Low Frequency Steering" on March 22 at 11:15.
