How the latest in sound and lighting effects can make your center shine
You need to hire and retain the best employees to build your business. Filling the ranks of your bowling center with the most productive employees though, is easier said than done. Other employers, after all, are chasing the same top talent.

Whether it’s the addition of black lights, strobes, rope lights, large speakers or a new audio system, updating a center’s lights or sound system can transform any bowling center into a night of fun beyond the strikes and spares. Here’s a look at some of the major sound and light companies and how some centers around the country have updated their systems utilizing the latest and greatest technology.

Casio America, Inc. Tim Boyd at SAVE Electronics has been working with Main Event Bowling, Plano, Texas to install Casio projectors into its centers. According to Boyd, he gave the center Casio’s Signature XJ-M250 projectors because they are lampfree and run on a state-of-the-art Laser & LED hybrid light source, which means the center will not have to replace lamps every few months like in older systems. With the projectors having an estimated lifespan of 20,000 hours, Main Event can now provide on-going visual footage, since the projectors typically run 14-16 hours a day.

“Utilizing their innovative products coupled with their outstanding customer service, they’ve helped Main Event improve its overall guest experience by evolving the use of our digital platforms through many of the products provided,” says Charlie Keegan, Main Event’s CEO. “As technology evolves and as we continue to make improvements in both the designs and products to better improve our guest offerings, we will look to SAVE to be a integral part of our winning formula.”

The projectors are set up from fl oor to ceiling at the end of all bowling lanes, right above the pins and can project advertisements, live sporting events, music videos and more. Main Event can shut down the projectors every day without worrying about additional setup time. When the power is turned back on, the projectors retain memory of the zoom settings and cut down on calibration time.

“The total cost of ownership and ability to withstand daily use were the two major components in choosing a projector,” Pete Del Monte, director of technical services of Main Event Entertainment, says. “Casio’s Signature XJ-M250 meets our needs beyond our expectations and has made a signifi cant technological difference in our bowling alleys by cutting down costs and maintenance, and brightening the atmosphere. This projector has transformed Main Event Bowling Centers into an amazing digital experience for consumers.”
